AMS Mentorship Scholarship Fund
At AMS, we believe that every adoptee should have access to quality mentoring, regardless of financial circumstances. If you are interested in receiving mentorship - for adoptees, by adoptees - and face financial barriers, we invite you to apply for a scholarship.
Who Qualifies For A Scholarship?
We believe adopted people of all ages deserve support from those who understand—without financial barriers. While scholarship availability depends on donations and accessible funds, we prioritize those without access to additional financial support (such as; adoptive parents). We understand that financial circumstances are complex and offer guidance below to help you decide whether to apply.
-
You are not a homeowner
You do not hold a postgraduate degree
You are disabled, chronically ill, or neurodivergent
You are a member of the BIPOC or 2SLGBTQIA+ communities
You are a single parent
You qualify for public assistance
You’ve used credit cards to cover essential needs
You lack a financial safety net (e.g., savings or family support)
You’ve struggled to afford mental health care
You are unemployed or underemployed, not by choice
You rarely have disposable income for travel, entertainment, or dining out
-
By donations! The Adoptive Parents 4 Adoptees Fund makes our scholarship possible. Spearheaded by our Board Chair, Alissa Newton, this initiative invites adoptive parents to directly invest in the well-being of adoptees.
