I left feeling truly seen and heard. It filled my cup and reminded me how much I need this community in my life.
DONATE TO AMS
Every dollar lands where it matters.
AMS is fueled entirely by people who believe adoptees deserve mentors who’ve walked the same road. Here’s exactly how your gift is used — and every way you can give.
This is what generosity looks like in practice.
YOUR IMPACT
Connects one adoptee with a trained mentor who truly understands their lived experience.
Supports the ongoing coaching and clinical supervision that helps our mentors provide thoughtful, ethical, and healing-centered guidance.
Builds the future of adoptee mentorship by supporting the development of our Mentor Skills Lab, where new mentors receive specialized training grounded in lived experience and best practices.
HOW WE USE THE FUNDS
No guessing. No vague promises. Just transparency.
As a 501(c)(3), AMS publishes exactly how every dollar is allocated. Here’s our 2024 breakdown.
Adoptee Mentoring Society is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent of the law. EIN: 87-2306907.

WAYS TO GIVE
Find the giving path that fits you.
Give online — once or monthly
A one-time or recurring gift processed securely through Little Green Light. Every dollar goes directly to mentor training, mentee sessions, and program support. Recurring gifts are the foundation AMS runs on — a monthly commitment at any amount gives us the stability to plan, grow, and say yes to more adoptees.
Adoptive Parents 4 Adoptees Fund
Spearheaded by board chair Alissa Newton, this dedicated fund is specifically for adoptive parents who want to invest directly in adoptee well-being. Unrestricted gifts go straight to mentorship programming.
Scholarship Fund
Your gift to the AMS Scholarship Fund ensures that cost is never the reason an adoptee doesn’t get support. Every dollar expands access to identity-affirming mentorship and community for adoptees regardless of income.
Mentor Mail
An in-kind giving option with real impact. Thoughtful, mailable items — journals, candles, fidget toys, handmade goods — are sent by mentors to their mentees as care packages between sessions. A small gesture with a huge personal impact. Please connect with our team before sending items.
