Virtual mentorship for adoptees — by adoptees.

The Adoptee Mentoring Society (AMS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created by adoptees, for adoptees. We exist to validate, affirm, and center adopted people through compassionate, virtual, research-informed mentorship from those with lived adoptee experience.

1:1 Mentorship - $60

Meet virtually with one of our trained adoptee mentors for 45-minute, 1:1 Zoom sessions. Come with goals in mind or simply show up — your mentor will guide the way. Sessions create space to explore identity, birth family, race, gender, and more, while also leaving room for joy, hobbies, and everyday connection.

  • Adoptees ages 13 and up!

  • Watch an info session that we held about becoming a mentor here.

  • he Adoptive Parent-specific FAQ’s here and/or you can watch an Info Session we held specifically for adoptive parents HERE.

We ask that youth have their mentorship sessions in a private space, without parents present. This isn’t about excluding you—it’s about creating a safe, judgment-free environment where your child can speak openly.

The Adoptee Lounge

The Adoptee Lounge is a virtual space where adoptees (ages 13+) gather in groups of up to 5 mentees to share, reflect, and grow alongside others who truly get it. Sessions are facilitated by our mentors, creating room for honest conversations about identity, connection, and everything in between.

    • Youth Lounges (ages 13-16): $35

    • Young Adult Lounges (ages 17-22): $35

    • Adult Adoptee Lounges (ages 23 and up): $10

  • Our Mentors facilitate these sessions. They are trained, are supervised and are paid for their services. Hear directly from an Adoptee Lounge attendee to learn more.
