"For the first time, I didn't have to explain my whole life story."
— AMS MENTEE
Someone who's also walking this road.
One-on-one mentorship from a trained adoptee mentor — for adoptees ages 13 and up.
Adoptee to Adoptee
Every mentor has lived the experience themselves.
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT
This isn't therapy. It isn't advice. It's something rarer.
When you sit down with an AMS mentor, you're sitting down with someone who has lived with the questions you're carrying — about identity, belonging, family, and what it means to be adopted. They don't need you to explain from the beginning. They already know.
Our 1:1 mentorship pairs you with a trained adoptee mentor for virtual sessions — shaped entirely by what you bring to the conversation.
HOW IT WORKS
Simple to start. Built to last.
Pick who feels right
Learn about the mentors and select whomever you feel connected with — whether that’s because they’re also transracial adoptees, they’ve struggled with reunion too, or because of their love of cats. It’s your choice.
45 minutes, over video
No commute, no waiting room. Just you and a mentor who shows up ready to meet you where you are.
The cadence is yours
We recommend monthly sessions to build continuity, but the rhythm is yours to choose. This is your space.
WHO THIS IS FOR
You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve support.
1:1 mentorship is for any adoptee ages 13 and up — whether you're in the middle of something hard, just starting to ask bigger questions, or simply want a space with someone who gets it.
You’re in the middle of something hard and want someone who understands.
You’re just starting to ask the bigger questions about identity and belonging.
You simply want a consistent space with someone who gets it.

MEET YOUR MENTORS
Every mentor is an adoptee. Every mentor has done the work.
AMS mentors go through a rigorous vetting and application process, before attending our multi-day Mentor Skills Lab — an evidence-based training curriculum built specifically for the complexities of the adoptee experience. They're not volunteers who mean well. They're people who have earned the right to sit with you.
5 trained adoptee mentors — ready to walk alongside you.
