Adoptee Mentoring Society Selected for SVP Seattle’s Inaugural GrowFundMe Cohort
The Adoptee Mentoring Society is proud to announce its selection as one of eight organizations chosen for the inaugural cohort of Social Venture Partners (SVP) Seattle’s GrowFundMe program. This six-month initiative brings together small, BIPOC-led nonprofits across King County with experienced partners and volunteers to strengthen fundraising skills, expand networks, and amplify community impact.
The Adoptee Mentoring Society builds connection and community through virtual mentorship for adoptees, by adoptees. By joining the GrowFundMe cohort, the organization gains access to expert instruction, dedicated thought-partnership, and a platform to share its mission with hundreds of community and business leaders across the region.

About SVP Seattle’s GrowFundMe Program
GrowFundMe is SVP Seattle’s signature program supporting small, BIPOC-led nonprofits. Across King County, these organizations are tackling urgent community challenges while receiving only a fraction of available philanthropic funding and visibility. GrowFundMe invests directly in capacity, connection, and collective learning.
The 2026 cohort (January–June) brings together eight nonprofits with annual budgets typically under $500K and pairs them with 12–20 SVP Partners and community volunteers. Program highlights include:
Monthly thought-partnership check-ins with SVP Partners and volunteers
Expert-led workshops on fundraising, case-making, and storytelling (February–April)
Presentation coaching and showcase preparation (May)
The Stories of Impact Showcase — a public event for 100–150 community and business leaders where pooled funds are distributed equally among all cohort organizations (June)
2026 Program Goals
Direct $25,000–$50,000 in new funding to small, BIPOC-led nonprofits
Engage 20+ SVP Partners and community volunteers in equity-centered giving
Build a network of changemakers advancing justice and sustainability across King County

The GrowFundMe cohort will culminate in the GrowFundMe: Thrive showcase, SVP Seattle’s annual celebration of community innovation and equity-centered philanthropy.
